Ex-WWE Champion Dismisses Injury Reports

A former WWE Women’s Champion has shut down the idea that she is dealing with an injury.

Nia Jax only wrestled one match in March. It was at WWE Elimination Chamber in Toronto when she teamed up with Candice LeRae in a match where they lost to WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton and WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratton.

In 2024, Jax had a career year because she won the Queen of the Ring tournament, which led to a WWE Women’s Title shot against Bayley at SummerSlam. Jax beat Bayley to become WWE Women’s Champion, and she went on to hold the title for 153 days.

Since losing the WWE Women’s Title to Tiffany Stratton, Jax tried to win it back, but she wasn’t able to do it. With WrestleMania just two weeks away, it appears that Jax may not be on the card at all.

It was reported by Wrestle Votes via SportsKeeda’s Backstage Pass Q&A that Jax was dealing with some sort of injury in recent weeks.

“Nia Jax has been…I want to phrase this properly. Not cleared. That’s the best way I can put it. She was due to be cleared I believe two weeks ago. Don’t know if that’s happened. Obviously, she hasn’t been on TV. Don’t know if it was due to an injury or what not. I do know internally that she’s not been cleared for action, which is why she hasn’t been on TV…

I don’t know what caused her to be on the inactive list. Don’t want to speculate. Hate to do that so I just know she’s been inactive with the anticaption of coming back I believe it was back on March 22nd….I don’t know why she’s not been cleared.”

Nia Jax Denies Report About Injury Keeping Her Off WWE TV

Since the report of the injury circulated online, Nia Jax saw it because a fan tagged her in it, and Jax went on X/Twitter to give a one-word response: “False.”

It was announced on WWE SmackDown in Chicago that there will be a Women’s Tag Team Gauntlet match for a shot at the Women’s Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania.

On the graphic shown for the match, Nia Jax & Candice LeRae were not shown. The teams on the graphic were Kayden Carter & Katana Chance, Lyra Valkyria & Bayley, Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark, B-Fab & Michin, Piper Niven & Alba Fyre and Natalya & Maxxine Dupri.
