Ex-WWE Champion Sets One Condition To Come Out Of Retirement
A former champion in WWE has set one condition for them coming out of retirement more than two years after their final match.
Former WWE Women’s Champion and 7-times TNA Knockouts Champion Gail Kim is one of the most respected in-ring female stars of the modern era. Unfortunately, she recently made headlines for her social media output, where an initial argument over the merits of death match wrestling spiralled into an anti-AEW rant that spanned several days.
Kim last competed in a match of any kind in 2023 as part of TNA Impact’s 1000th episode, as she teamed with Awesome Kong, Trinity (WWE’s Naomi), Jordynne Grace, and Mickie James to defeat Angelina Love, Deonna Purrazzo, Tasha Steelz, Gisele Shaw, and Savannah Evans.
But will Gail Kim ever return to the ring?
Ex-WWE Star Gail Kim Protective Of Her Legacy
Speaking with the Toronto Sun, Gail Kim revealed that she’d only be tempted to come out of retirement for something very special:
Of course you miss the sport of wrestling, I miss having that adrenaline rush. I don’t mind doing some physicality spots here and there if I’m ever booked for anything. A full match is something entirely different, I guess I would say never say never but it would have been something really, really special. For me to get conditioned for a full match, I don’t think people realize how hard it is to train for the cardio of a professional wrestling match.
Also, the last thing, which is the more important thing, I care about my legacy. I care about my body of work that I left behind and what fans remember of me. If I’m coming out of retirement, this is going to be the last thing they remember. I don’t want them to think I’ve slowed down, I don’t want them to think I’m rusty or whatever it is. I’m very hard on myself when it comes to that.
