After Bully Ray found himself heavily involved at NXT Halloween Havoc another ECW legend could be about to appear on WWE’s third brand.
As reported by Fightful Select, Rob Van Dam is backstage at the Performance Center ahead of the October 29th episode of NXT. On November 6th the show will come live from the 2300 Arena, better known to wrestling fans as the ECW Arena.
Van Dam has made several appearances for WWE in 2024 and recently confirmed he remains signed to a Legends deal.
Interestingly, NXT star Je’Von Evans has called for a match with the Hall of Famer.
Rob Van Dam Eyeing WWE In-Ring Return
Speaking back in July, Rob Van Dam admitted he’d love to return to the ring to face John Cena one more time. Cena is set to retire in 2025 after a year-long retirement tour starting with Raw’s move to Netflix in January.
During an episode of his podcast, Van Dam said he hopes the company will bring him back for a rematch, adding that he could repeat his performance from their famous clash in 2006.
The pair’s most legendary encounter came in the main event at ECW One Night Stand in 2006. Van Dam called his shot after winning the Money In The Bank briefcase and went on to beat Cena to become World Champion in front of a raucous crowd.
