Ex-WWE Champion Addresses Origin Of Real-Life Heat With Triple H

Triple H WWE

Triple H is well known for “burying” superstars during his time as a wrestler and after, and this former WWE US champion was no exception.

Triple H is a controversial figure. The current CCO of WWE reigned supreme in the Ruthless Aggression Era of the WWE in the early to mid-2000s by never leaving the main event spot or relinquishing his World Heavyweight Championship for no longer than a few weeks or months.

Many fans and critics believe this was due in part because The Cerebral Assassin married then-WWE CEO Vince McMahon’s daughter, Stephanie McMahon, which led him to a position of power in the business.

A “burial” means stopping the momentum of a superstar so as not to let them get too far ahead of Triple H, especially in segments or matches where he was involved. Notable examples include Scott Steiner, Booker T, Rob Van Dam, Kane, Chris Jericho, who allegedly had their momentum halted by having to lose to or be put down by Triple H.

One such former wrestler was Mr.Kennedy (Real name: Ken Anderson), who was in the WWE from 2005 to 2009, had a lot of charisma and was over with the fans until he was unexpectedly caught in the crosshairs of The Cerebral Assassin.

Mr.Kennedy Shoots On Real Life Heat With Triple H

Speaking to Rene Dupree on his podcast, Ken Anderson opened up about the time Triple H buried him backstage. Anderson recalls not having done anything wrong to which Dupree supports his claim quipping “because you had talent? You could talk. You had charisma” implying that there are the exact things The Game did not like on his watch.

Anderson recalls a specific backstage incident where The Game lied about having missed watching a promo he had cut but in reality was bad-mouthing Mr. Kennedy backstage in front of many people.

I came back to the curtain and fucking, I remember specifically he was standing there, and I was like, did you happen to see that? Give me any advice. And he was like, oh man, I’m sorry. I didn’t, I didn’t catch it. I didn’t catch it.

Then Ekkie pulled me aside and he was like, man, he was fucking burying you while you were out there. He was burying you in front of everybody. When you said that thing about being the sport, future of sports entertainment, he was like, what up boys? Better fucking save your pay cheques. If that’s the future of sports entertainment.

A furious Anderson was going to confront Triple H about the allegation but says Chris Jericho stopped him from doing so and reminded him of the fact that he is the boss’ son-in-law and that it would be a terrible idea.

I wasn’t going to do it in public. I wasn’t, I was going to pull him aside and say, what the fuck man? And, uh, he (Jericho) was like, listen. He’s like, that guy has Sunday brunch with the boss every week.

He’s like, don’t do it. It’s like, yeah. Yeah.

So then every once in a while, whenever Jericho and I would pass each other, it would be like Sunday brunch, Sunday brunch.

After a long wrestling career in top promotions and independent circuits, Anderson is now back in TNA.
