An ex-World Champion is confirmed to get more WWE appearances.

TNA star Joe Hendry was last seen in the Stamford-based company at 2025 Battleground, where he defended the TNA World Title against Trick Williams.

In a shocking outcome, Hendry lost the match, making Williams the first WWE wrestler to win a TNA belt.

Hendry has been signed to TNA since 2022.

However, he has appeared on WWE programming multiple times due to the company’s multi-year agreement with TNA, which creates crossover opportunities for talents.

Even before the agreement was formalized, Hendry had shown up on NXT a handful of times in 2024.

In 2025, he was part of the 30-man Royal Rumble and came as the #15 entrant to a loud pop.

He was also a last-minute addition to face Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41 after Kevin Owens backed out due to an injury.

Of late, Joe Hendry’s aim is to reclaim the TNA title from Trick Williams. As per Fightful Select, he is expected to make appearances on NXT until Slammiversary.

Joe Hendry Attacks Trick Williams On WWE NXT

Joe Hendry made a surprise appearance on the June 24 episode of NXT.

TNA Champion Trick Williams successfully defended the title against Josh Briggs. Hendry, though, cut his celebrations short, making his way through the audience.

He then attacked Williams with a few clotheslines before sending him over the top rope, announcing his arrival.

Both wrestlers are scheduled to fight for the title at Slammiversary on July 20.
