Ex-World Champion Returning At WWE SNME After 3-Month Absence?
WWE is heading towards a massive match for December 2025, John Cena’s final match. For that, preparations need to be made and that includes bringing back other superstars.
The final match has been set for December 13th, 2025, for Saturday Night’s Main Event at Capitol One Arena. On the other hand, the Stamford-based promotion is heading into another SNME on November 1st, 2025.
WWE dropped a teaser for a major return
Ahead of November’s Saturday Night Main Event, WWE dropped a cryptic message on social media. It showed a mysterious man wearing formal trousers, socks, and shoes. If one listens to the audio carefully, it reveals the theme music of Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Two men often wear formals to the WWE ring: Cody Rhodes and Gunther. The American Nightmare does not need to be teased for a comeback since he is active in a storyline with Drew McIntyre. However, The Ring General was last seen on WWE TV at SummerSlam 2025, where he lost the World Heavyweight Championship to CM Punk.

Since reports suggest that Gunther will be Cena’s final match, fans are speculating that the global juggernaut is bringing back Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1st, 2025. On the other hand, The Champ’s next appearance is on November 10th, 2025 on Monday Night RAW.
Once The Ring General returns, the Stamford-based promotion will begin setting up John Cena’s final match.
