Ex-World Champion Refuses To Rule Out WWE Return

Triple H WWE boss

A former World Champion has given their thoughts on a WWE comeback.

WWE’s continued relationship with TNA has seen several Superstars make their way back to the company, even if only fleetingly. Most recently, this saw Mustafa Ali challenge for the North American Title, with Cassie Lee, Jessica McKay, and Mara Sadè all appearing at NXT vs. TNA Showdown.

Meanwhile, it’s been announced that Matt Cardona will head to NXT to face Josh Briggs on October 14.

Despite the crossover, Nic Nemeth, formerly known as Dolph Ziggler, has remained away from WWE and NXT. However, he could still make a comeback of his own under the right circumstances.

During a new interview with Chris Van Vliet, Nemeth said that while he’s open to appearing on WWE television, he has little interest in NXT.

“Maybe, but I really love what I’m doing. I really, really love what we’re doing as a company, and what I get to do on my free time, plus with the company. So, sure, possibly something. [But still be with TNA?] Yeah, and that’s fine. I’ve said this since they started talking together and making things public about everything with the WWE relationship. I said, if I can help TNA get something, I will be there.

If it’s to go to NXT and have a match, I’m not interested. I’ve done everything I could possibly do in NXT, and if it’s to do something with someone that I worked with, like Randy or Cody or Seth or something, I would be open to it if it helped TNA do something, or make a stride, or just get some kind of box checked to help us out. But otherwise, I will be cheering along on the outside.”

Nic Nemeth Took Unusual Approach To Get WWE Release

Earlier in the interview, Nic Nemeth opened up about his WWE exit and the strange pitch he made to ensure he got released.

After realising that his slide down the card was permanent and opportunities would be limited moving forward, he penned an email to several members of management, including Vince McMahon. In the email, he said he felt he was being overpaid, and that keeping him made little sense.

McMahon was the only person to reply to the email, and after more pushing from Nemeth, he was listed among a round of releases a week later.
