Ex-World Champion Officially Joins WWE After AJ Lee’s Return
AJ Lee made a stunning comeback to WWE on September 5, 2025, during the SmackDown event in Chicago.
Her return was marked by an emotional and electrifying segment where Lee joined her husband, CM Punk, in a confrontation against Becky Lynch. This was AJ Lee’s first appearance in WWE after a 10-year hiatus.
Her return is not just a one-time nostalgia moment. WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque publicly shared footage of AJ Lee signing a contract with WWE.BodySlam.net then confirmed that she is back to stay in the company as she has inked a multi-year, full-time deal with the promotion.
Fans can expect to see her regularly at future WWE events, including a highly anticipated mixed tag team match at Wrestlepalooza on September 20, 2025, where AJ Lee and CM Punk will face Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch.
German Wrestling Star Metehan Joins WWE After AJ Lee’s Comeback
After The Geek Goddess’ return, German wrestling star Metehan, previously known as Mike D. Vecchio, has now officially joined WWE. The news of Metehan’s signing with WWE broke out earlier this year. Those rumors gained traction when he bid farewell to his home promotion in Germany, wXw, at their Shortcut To The Top event.
WWE has yet to comment on his signing, but the former GWF World Champion recently confirmed that he’s moving to WWE in an interview with Dan Mallmann. He did so while detailing that his parents are really proud of him for becoming a part of the biggest wrestling promotion in the world.
“They realize, but I don’t know if they really realize. You know what I mean? Sometimes when they are talking to me, I’m like, ‘I’m sorry, but I will never come back.’ Maybe in 10, 15 years. My father is proud as f**k, I told him it’s okay to be quiet, and then he told the whole city that we were going to WWE. So yes, my father is very proud, but I think my mother is too [close] with me and she don’t really realize. But yes, how can they not be proud, they’re always here.”
