Ex-Tag Champion Drops 7-Word Message Following WWE Return After 4 Years
A former tag team champion in WWE was back in the ring as part of a unique angle.
In the main event on WWE NXT on September 23rd, the NXT Champion Oba Femi faced the TNA World Champion Trick Williams in a Winner Take All match.
It was a chaotic match because several TNA wrestlers surrounded the ring because they weren’t happy that the TNA World Title was on the line in a match that could see the same man hold the NXT Title and TNA World Title at the same time.
After Trick Williams slapped Mike Santana in the face, Santana went after him, and the match ended in a disqualification. That led to TNA male and female wrestlers going into the ring to brawl with NXT wrestlers. That’s how the show went off the air.
Since the TNA roster has several WWE wrestlers on it, there were familiar faces in the ring like former US, IC & Tag Team Champion Matt Cardona (formerly known as Zach Ryder), and former Women’s Tag Team Champions Cassie Lee & Jessica McKay, who are The IInspiration in TNA. They were known as The IIconics duo of Peyton Royce & Billie Kay in WWE, and were released four years ago.

Since leaving WWE, Cassie Lee has given birth to two sons with her NXT wrestler husband, Shawn Spears, and McKay has also had a son with her husband.
WWE NXT And TNA Wrestling Are Running PLEs On Back To Back Days
Fans of the WWE NXT and TNA Wrestling “invasion” storyline will be able to see what happens next when both brands present PLE shows this weekend.
TNA Victory Road takes place on Friday, September 26th, in Edmonton with this lineup:

The WWE NXT-TNA Wrestling feud is expected to continue in the weeks and months ahead, with TNA possibly hosting shows at the WWE Performance Center.
