Ex-NFL Star Signs With WWE

Triple H WWE Performance Center

WWE has another new signing.

Atrilleon Williams, better known to NFL fans as Trill Williams has added his name to the long list of former football players who have turned their hand to pro wrestling.

The news of Williams signing with WWE was first reported by Bobby Shouse of The Dive Bar Podcast. Williams attended a try-out with the sports entertainment giant back in the summer, before eventually putting pen to paper.

The former Miami Dolphin has already made his on-screen debut, appearing in a background shot on the November 12th episode of NXT.

Williams played cornerback, wide receiver, and running back for Archbishop Stepinac High School before committing to Syracuse University. The safety went undrafted in 2021 but was quickly picked up by the New Orleans Saints, only to be waived days later after failing a physical.

The star then moved to the Dolphins, making his most recent appearance for the franchise in 2022 after which he suffered a torn ACL.

WWE Recruitment Drive Continues

Meanwhile, it was recently reported that WWE had signed 27-year-old Olympic judo star Aaron Fara. In addition, contracts have also been offered to another judo player — Shady Einaches, and discus thrower Francois Prinsloo.

The company is also in the process of unveiling the first batch of wrestlers signed to its WWE ID program. The new scheme aims to create a pathway between the company and the independent scene.

Meanwhile, TNA star “Speedball” Mike Bailey is now a free agent after his contract expired on November 1st. Bailey has been heavily linked with a move to both WWE and AEW.
