Ex-John Cena Rival Reacts To New WWE Tournament

John Cena WWE cant see me

One of John Cena’s former rivals in WWE has responded to their inclusion in the Last Time Is Now tournament.

December 13th 2025, will mark a historic day in pro wrestling history as that is when the 17-time WWE Champion John Cena will compete in the ring for the very last time.

Cena began 2025 knowing that it was his final year as a WWE star. He infamously turned heel at Elimination Chamber to align with The Rock and Travis Scott before he captured his 17th WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41 against Cody Rhodes.

By the time a rematch came around with Rhodes at SummerSlam, Cena had abandoned his heel turn as it proved the decision to never turn him heel before then had been the right one all along.

Now, John Cena is in the final stretch of his career, and one of his final WWE appearances will take place when Raw emanates from Boston, MA, on November 10th. That is also when the Last Time Is Now tournament will begin, as 16 WWE stars will compete for the right to be Cena’s final opponent at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

The first round matches taking place on Raw will see Sheamus battle Shinsuke Nakamura, while Rusev takes on Damian Priest.

Sheamus Happy To Be Part Of John Cena Tournament

Sheamus has now taken to social media to share his reaction to his inclusion in the tournament, as he had two words for his match with the King of Strong Style:

Certified Banger

Just six months after making his WWE TV debut, Sheamus shockingly beat John Cena for the WWE Championship at TLC in 2009. Cena reclaimed the title at Elimination Chamber in 2010, but four months later, the Celtic Warrior re-captured the gold in a Fatal Four-Way match.
