Ex-WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore opens up about his WWE departure.

Enzo joined WWE in 2012 and gained fame in NXT as part of the tag team Enzo and Cass with Colin Cassady (Big Cass).

Enzo and Cass were drafted to the Raw brand in July 2016, where they had some high-profile feuds with top names in the company.

WWE suspended Enzo on January 22, 2018, amid a Phoenix Police investigation into a sexual assault allegation from October 2017, which he failed to report to the company.

He was released the next day, as WWE enforced its zero-tolerance policy on such matters.

Former WWE Star Enzo Amore Never Gave Up On Himself

Enzo, who now goes by Real1, recently had an interview with The Rich Eisen Show, where he revealed the hardships he had to face after getting fired by WWE.

He disclosed that the whole world boycotted him, but he didn’t give up on himself, no matter how hard things got, and fought through the tough times.

“Unwaveringly, my confidence has never left. My opportunities got squandered. I got canceled, I got s**t on by the world, and I got told I was one thing. But, to that point, I love to inspire those who have to persevere and go through things.”

“You know, Moses had to leave Egypt, and he had to go in the desert, and you know, he had to go through something to come back and say, ‘Alright, here’s what time it is now.’”

Enzo is currently part of the independent circuit and wrestles for rapper Westside Gunn and Smoke DZA’s wrestling promotion called 4th Rope Wrestling, where he is the inaugural 4th Rope Flyweight Champion.
