Ex-AEW World Champion Will Allegedly Dethrone Jon Moxley
Jon Moxley’s dominant title run could end at All In: Texas.
The leader of the Death Riders won the AEW World Title at WrestleDream in October last year by defeating Bryan Danielson.
He will face “Hangman” Adam Page on Saturday in a Texas Death match.
Page became the contender after winning the final of the Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament against Will Ospreay at Double Or Nothing.
Freddie Prinze Jr., who is closely monitoring this feud, is backing Page to come out on top against Jon Moxley, something that he discussed on his latest Wrestling with Freddie podcast episode.
I fully believe, storywise, that the end of the story is Adam “Hangman” Page, the Cowboy, winning in Texas in a Texas Death match with all the cards stacked against him; maybe with a little help from his friends, as the song goes. I think the story ends with him (Page) holding the championship up high…and he’s gonna be the people’s champion in Texas, where cowboys come from. [20:01 onwards]
Adam Page’s Violent History With Jon Moxley
It is fair to say that Adam Page and Jon Moxley have a meaty personal history.
Page had challenged Moxley for the AEW Championship on October 18, 2022, as well; however, during the match, he sustained a legitimate concussion after being hit with a clothesline.
After his return three months later, Page stalked Moxley, albeit with no title in picture.
They previously competed in a Death Match at Revolution 2023, which ended with Page getting the best of Moxley.
They also engaged in a few fights later, but in groups; their singles match on Saturday is expected to be a cracker of a contest, too.
