An ex-champion discussed his dream match, facing Roman Reigns for the world championship at WrestleMania.

Carmelo Hayes debuted on the main roster as part of SmackDown in April 2024. While he primarily wrestles as a mid-carder, he has earned important wins.

Currently, he is involved in a mentor-mentee storyline with former world champion The Miz.

Hayes was also in Saudi Arabia recently during the WWE Night of Champions PLE.

During an interview, he spoke about not being unleashed to his fullest potential and discussed dream rivalries in the near future.

One of the top guys I’ve always said I wanted to work with is Seth Rollins. Another one would obviously be Roman Reigns. I think Seth and I would have great chemistry in the ring. Hopefully, we could do it for a world title. Hopefully, we could do it at WrestleMania; same goes with Roman. [8:19 onwards]

Roman Reigns Return Update

Multiple reports have stated that Roman Reigns may be returning to WWE soon.

The former world champion has not been seen since the RAW episode after WrestleMania 41, and has wrestled in only 3 matches in 2025.

According to WrestleVotes, the former Bloodline member’s return may be delayed, and he could miss SummerSlam, too.

We reported that last week that he’s due back imminently. His name has been floated [sic] around on documents. That’s where we can leave it. But I’d imagine it’s not a SummerSlam return. That’s the best I can say right now. I’d imagine going into SummerSlam, people will know what he’s doing.

For the first time in its history, the 2025 SummerSlam will be held across two consecutive nights (August 2 & 3).
