Ex-Champion Calls Out WWE For Erasing Him From Chelsea Green’s Life
Chelsea Green is a major star in WWE, yet the company largely overlooks one member of her family.
If you watch WWE programming regularly, then you know that former Women’s US Champion Chelsea Green and her Secret Hervice (Piper Niven & Alba Fyre) are everywhere.
The trio of Green and Secret Hervice are members of the SmackDown roster, but they also have had recent appearances on Raw and NXT as well. That’s because Green is a very entertaining character who knows how to make the fans laugh if she’s trying to be silly, and she can be serious when needed, too.
Chelsea Green was also featured on the WWE Unreal documentary on Netflix since the show covered her Women’s US Title win in December 2024. They also showed Green’s disappointment about not being a part of the Survivor Series lineup, even though it was in Vancouver, near where she grew up.
During the feature on Green on WWE Unreal, it wasn’t mentioned that she has been married to Matt Cardona (former WWE superstar Zack Ryder) since January 2022. Cardona worked for WWE for 15 years until his 2020 release, and he has thrived in the independents since then. Cardona also appears on TNA regularly, but he’s not under contract with them.
While speaking to TMZ Sports, Matt Cardona expressed his frustrations with WWE not mentioning him when covering his wife Green’s life. When Green won the Women’s US Title in Long Island, where Cardona is from, he couldn’t attend the show due to a prior commitment, but his family was there to support him. As he continued, Cardona expressed his frustrations with WWE.
“I was so grateful that my family got to be there for her because I was working in California, actually in LA for GCW, you know, like our schedules are so busy, you know, we support each other, but we can’t be at each other’s shows, we’re actually wrestling.
But to see her featured on that Unreal show, super proud of her. It’s weird because if you watch it, it seems like she does not have a husband at all there. Like I brought my whole family over. If you pause one of the scenes, though, when she’s in her closet, you can see my entrance vest in the background.”
Chelsea Green Will Be In Action At WWE NXT Heatwave
The busy schedule of Chelsea Green saw her at ringside on SmackDown in Dublin, Ireland, as she helped Piper Niven beat Charlotte Flair. Green gouged Flair’s eyes (the referee never saw it), and Niven hit a Piper Driver for the upset win.
Next up for Green is WWE NXT Heatwave in Lowell, Massachusetts, when she teams up with her fellow Canadian, Ethan Page, who is the NXT North American Champion, against the team of Tavion Heights and Tyra Mae Steele.
