Ex-Attitude Era WWE Star Makes Shock AEW Debut

WWE Attitude Era

AEW Dynamite took place in Orlando, Florida but before the action went live on TV, a former WWE Tag Team Champion made their in-ring debut for the company.

Dynamite saw the AEW Continental Classic final confirmed for Worlds End on December 30th as part of a huge night of action.

However, before Dynamite went live on TV, two dark matches took place with the second of those seeing The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass with a surprise partner taking on Jake Hager, Matt Menard, and The Gunns. That surprise partner just happened to be former WWE Tag Team Champion Scotty 2 Hotty – who was introduced as Scott Taylor for the bout, entering to Too Cool’s old WWE music. Taylor and the AEW Trios Champions picked up the win.

When Did Scotty 2 Hotty Leave WWE?

Scotty 2 Hotty worked as a coach at the WWE Performance Center for five years between 2016 and 2021. Upon leaving that role, he resumed his in-ring career, wrestling on the independent scene again.

The star received a tryout from AEW for a producer role in July 2023 and he has been working with the company in that role ever since. It is expected he will be working full-time with the company as a producer in 2024.
