This famous former AEW World Champion may be headed back to WWE, according to this well-known wrestling personality.

There has been a good amount of scuttlebutt in recent months about the return of ex-AEW World Champion Chris Jericho to WWE programming. The legendary wrestler was last seen in AEW on AEW Dynamite the week after the Dynasty Pay-Per-View, where he lost his title to Bandido in a Title vs Mask match.

In the episode, Jericho was seen lashing out at his “students” of the Learning Tree faction, Big Bill and Brian Keith, effectively blaming them for not helping him keep his title. He also stated that it would be best for him to take some time off, and the faction duly disbanded.

As his hiatus from AEW continued, speculation began about whether Y2J could return to WWE in 2026, maybe even as a Royal Rumble entrant. To add to the possibility, the superstar’s AEW contract is also almost up.

Could former AEW World Champion Chris Jericho Return To WWE in 2026?

Now, well-known former pro-wrestling booker Eric Bischoff has made a statement about Jericho’s future. Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Bischoff said that he was willing to bet money on Jericho returning to WWE and said that Y2J planned things ahead of time, also citing the star’s many throwbacks to his time in WWE on social media as key reasons for his bet.

“He’s a very smart guy and he plans ahead. He thinks ahead… If I had to bet money, I would bet he’s going to end up in WWE. If I had to bet, and somebody would really have a reason to force me because I wouldn’t want to take that bet, but if I had to, that’s where I’m putting my bet…. I don’t know what the plan is, but Chris has got a plan,” Bischoff said. “Now I’m seeing real subtle little nods to WWE. Just enough to get social media to pay attention, not overt.”

It remains to be seen whether Y2J will indeed make a comeback to the WWE in 2026.
