Ex-AEW Star Admits They Underperformed While With Company

An ex-AEW star thinks they could have done more while they were All Elite.

On March 26, Saraya announced her departure from AEW, six months before her contract officially expired in September.

From the moment the news broke she’s been linked with a return to WWE where she spent 11 years between 2011 and 2022. However, things might not be quite that straightforward.

During a new interview with Muscle Man Malcolm, Saraya appeared to confirm that she won’t wrestle in 2025 as she focuses on a series of projects outside of the ring.

“If I do wrestle again, I’m gonna take this year to step outside of it,”

While expressing her desire to train with Natalya, she admitted she wasn’t giving wrestling her “entire all” during the last couple of years.

“I will be going to Natty’s [Natalya Neidhart’s] training school getting some reps under me so then when I do come back, I’m back to being how I wrestled before because I felt like I wasn’t giving it my entire all these past couple of years…

I know that I was frustrated with myself. I know I could be better than that. So I’m gonna go back and, like, relearn my life again.”

Saraya Hasn’t Spoken To WWE Since AEW Exit

In that same interview, and elsewhere, Saraya claimed she hasn’t spoken to WWE despite many expecting her to eventually sign with the company. However, she reiterated that she wants to train with Natalya to prepare for an eventual in-ring comeback.

Saraya has wrestled a total of 28 matches since breaking her neck in late 2017, with her most recent outing coming in early October 2024.
