Ex-AEW Star Not Happy With WWE Booking Criticism

A former AEW star has defended their WWE run.

After his AEW contract expired, Brian Pillman Jr. headed to WWE, eventually debuting with NXT in October 2023 under the name Lexis King.

Since making the move, King has wrestled several of the company’s fastest-rising stars, sharing the ring with the likes of Carmelo Hayes, Oba Femi, and Dragon Lee. However, King hasn’t wrestled since August 13th, with some fans suggesting his progress has stalled.

After a fan on social media claimed King had featured more for AEW than WWE, King hit back. During his time with AEW, King wrestled on television just 26 times.

This is a false statement. I have wrestled 17 matches on NXT live television just this year alone. That is likely 3x more TV time than my entire 3 year AEW career…

Giulia Makes WWE Debut

While Lexis King might have missed No Mercy, the event saw Giulia make her long-awaited WWE debut.

On the show, Roxanne Perez made the seventh defence of her NXT Women’s Title against Jaida Parker. Although the challenger pushed Perez all the way, the champion was left standing tall at the final bell.

However, Perez couldn’t celebrate for long as Giulia confronted her a week after finishing up her commitments in Japan. Giulia signed with WWE back in April but was allowed to play a prominent role in the launch of Marigold with former Stardom boss Rossy Ogawa.

Meanwhile, in the main event, Ethan Page retained the NXT Championship with a win over Joe Hendry.
