A former AEW star is keeping their options open, including a potential switch to WWE.

On March 26, Saraya announced her departure from AEW, six months before her contract officially expired in September.

From the moment the news broke she’s been linked with a return to WWE where she spent 11 years between 2011 and 2022. Given that her departure from AEW came just after several All Elite stars headed to the sports entertainment, many fans think her return is something of a slam dunk.

To add to the rumours, Saraya recently admitted she wants to train with Natalya before the end of 2025 in an effort to find herself again. In the same conversation, she also said she wants to compete in a Royal Rumble and an Elimination Chamber match, two things she’s never done before.

Saraya Issues WWE Denial

During a new interview with Wrestle Zone, Saraya denied she’s spoken with WWE despite the huge amount of speculation surrounding her. However, as some fans have been quick to point out, she again didn’t rule out a return either.

“That’s something that with this year, I kind of want to get all my business and stuff, deals out the way, like under my name and all that kind of stuff. Because I’m not — people think I’m going back to WWE or whatever, because there’s this huge rumor mill happening right now. But I haven’t spoken to them. At least not right now, I haven’t spoken to them.”

Saraya reiterated that she’s looking to work on several non-wrestling projects in the coming months, but suggested that WWE wouldn’t necessarily see this as the same problem they would have done in the past.

“I’m also focusing on my podcast, acting, all that kind of fun stuff too. I wouldn’t want it to affect my brand. And I feel like WWE now is being more open and receptive to people doing outside stuff. They are much more comfortable with that and are much more accepting of that. I feel like, if I ever did go back, I feel like they would be understanding at this point and kind of let me do my thing.”

Saraya’s last WWE match took place on December 27, 2017, at a live event. During the six-woman tag team match, she suffered a second major neck injury that kept her out of the ring until November 2022 when she wrestled Britt Baker at Full Gear.
