Evolution 2 May Reportedly Break Unfortunate 6-Year WWE Record
WWE is returning with the all-women’s premium live event for a second time in 2025, ever since its inception in 2018.
The show includes superstars from all three brands, and provides a platform for the women’s roster to showcase their skills at the highest level.
This time, the show is scheduled for the day after Saturday Night’s Main Event.
WWE Evolution 2 might be a victim of poor scheduling
Previously, Evolution 2 was supposed to have its own weekend, but instead, the global juggernaut booked it alongside Saturday Night’s Main Event. Given that SNME has become wildly popular among fans, the show on July 12th, 2025, is expected to sell out.
Dave Meltzer noted that with Evolution 2 on the very next day, the tickets might not sell as expected despite the massive talent on the match card, and can become the lowest-selling event since 2019 Stomping Grounds. Unfortunately, this would make WWE believe that the premium live event does not perform well, and never bring it back.
t’s bad in a sense that it took years for WWE to do a show like this after the first one had a somewhat weak advance although it ended up fine and did low levels of viewership (it wasn’t the lowest PPV number but was lower than most). Now this not selling tickets may lead them to believe the concept doesn’t work. For years they didn’t do it based on the idea they believed the concept didn’t work, but with a larger overall star power for women, they did try again. Again, the decision to flood the market this coming weekend very much hurt WWE on the guise of hurting AEW.
Furthemore, it added that if Evolution 2 was booked at Mohegan Sun Casino the week before, it possibly would have been a sellout event!
