Eric Bischoff Doubts WWE Legend Would Ever Wrestle Again

Eric Bischoff Heaps Praise On AEW Match, Labels Star The

The WCW veteran Eric Bischoff is the chief media officer of Real American Freestyle.

RAF is a professional freestyle wrestling league launched in 2025 as a partnership between wrestling icons and business leaders. Founded by Chad Bronstein, Hulk Hogan, and others, RAF aims to provide a professional stage for collegiate and Olympic wrestlers who historically received limited compensation.

The league features current NCAA athletes, past collegiate stars, and Olympic wrestlers competing under traditional freestyle wrestling rules, focusing on authentic athletic competition. The first event was held in Cleveland in August 2025.

Kurt Angle serves as an integral figure in Real American Freestyle. In 2025, he joined the RAF as a live event commentator, analyst, and partner, lending his extensive professional and amateur wrestling expertise to the league.

Kurt Angle Will Not Wrestle in RAF, Says Eric Bischoff

Given his extensive experience inside the ring, fans have been pondering whether they would get to see The Olympic Hero back in action at RAF. While the prospect of it seems exciting, Eric Bischoff believes it is highly unlikely given Angle’s health condition. Speaking with Undisputed’s Justin Barrasso, Eric Bischoff said:

“Kurt is an elite-of-the-elite level athlete. There is still that competitive drive and desire. We’re seeing it from Tito and Chael, too. I don’t know if Kurt could do it [health-wise], but it would be extremely exciting if he did.”

“Wrestling is even bigger internationally than it is domestically in the United States. People are going to love our weekly series, and the potential exists for international events, which would be amazing.” [H/T: WrestlingInc]

King Kurt recently made a confession where he admitted he might never step inside the squared circle again because of his health issues. During an interview with Mic Check with Mr. Anderson, he made a heartbreaking revelation about how pro wrestling has taken a toll on his body.

“I wish I could, man. I can’t. That would be very tempting, but there’s just no way possible. I have had my knees replaced; I now need to have my shoulders replaced. I had five neck surgeries, two back surgeries. My body just is really banged up. There’s really nothing I can do.”

Kurt Angle was last seen inside the ring at WrestleMania 35 on April 7, 2019, where he suffered a loss to Baron Corbin in a singles bout. Despite the possibility of Angle returning to the ring being very low, fans still hope to see him inside one someday.
