Eric Bischoff Not Surprised By Vince McMahon’s WWE Return

Vince McMahon stares down Eric Bischoff

WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff is not surprised that Vince McMahon was in the thick of the action when he returned backstage at a recent show and says he’s sure that McMahon has been missing it.

With Raw taking place in Boston, MA recently, John Cena was on the show setting up his own huge WrestleMania match but the sixteen-time champion of the world had a special visitor – Vince McMahon.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that while McMahon was said to be at the show to visit Cena, he spent all night in the heart of the action at the Gorilla Position:

“He was in Gorilla all night, so what does that tell you? He wasn’t barking orders at people or anything like that, but he was in Gorilla all night and I was told – they tell you he’s only there to visit John Cena, that’s the story, but there’s more to it than that.”

Speaking on After 83 Weeks – courtesy of AdFreeShows.com – Eric Bischoff gave his own take on Vince McMahon taking up residence in the key backstage production area and says he doesn’t think McMahon was influencing anything:

“Vince loves this stuff. This is Vince’s DNA. This is so much a part of who he is. It doesn’t mean that he was calling any shots or having any impact or influencing anything. It was just sitting there in Gorilla because that’s what he’s been doing for the last 40 years, and I’m sure he misses it.”
