Eric Bischoff Knows His Value To WWE Is In Decline
Eric Bischoff has explained how his next appearance on WWE TV came to be while admitting his name value is starting to diminish.
WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff will be on the 3rd of December edition of NXT TV to mediate a face-to-face confrontation between Ridge Holland and NXT Champion Trick Williams. Ridge Holland broke hearts when he earned his title shot as he caused a beloved faction to lose its star member.
Speaking on the Ariel Helwani Show, Eric Bischoff explained exactly why he is going to appear on NXT, noting that it was more a case of efficiency from WWE’s point of view:
There is another project that I’ll be working on Wednesday for Peacock. Because I’m going to be there anyway, in Orlando working on that, ‘oh by the way, there is a live show on Tuesday. Let’s get him in here and make him a part of the NXT show.’ I think that’s the reason is came together. Efficiency, more than anything, and a good opportunity. I’ve never been part of NXT, so this is a first for me and the audience.
Eric Bischoff: “I’m Unemployable”
Bischoff was asked if this appearance could lead to more, the former WCW President admitted that he knows his value has diminished to the audience over time:
I’m unemployable. People don’t mind bringing me in for a night, but you watch, you won’t see me again for six months. A little bit of me goes a long way. I’m just kidding.
I think I’m a little bit outside of the demo. Just a bit. There is some name value there. A storied member of the Monday Night Wars and the legacy that created. It has some value, but realistically, it’s limited. If I get an opportunity to do something like this a couple times a year, that’s all I can ask for. I’m grateful for that.
