Eric Bischoff Names Top AEW Star As “Best Worker In The Business”

Eric Bischoff Names Top AEW Star As

WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff made a striking statement, naming AEW’s Mercedes Mone as “the best worker in the business.”

Mone is currently one of AEW’s top female stars and a leading figure in the wrestling world. Eric Bischoff’s endorsement is particularly notable given his often critical stance on AEW. On his “83 Weeks” podcast, Bischoff explained his reasoning by drawing a comparison between Mone and WCW legend Bill Goldberg.

He noted that while Goldberg was considered one of the best workers during his time in WCW, the term “worker” can be understood through a lens defined by wrestling icon Hulk Hogan.

Hulk Hogan told me once, and when he said it, it kind of rubbed me the wrong way, but the more I thought about it, the more I realised that it was true,

Bischoff recalled. Hogan’s view was that the best worker is the one who generates the most revenue. Bischoff elaborated:

And by that standard, Bill Goldberg was the best worker in the business. He made a lot more money, as I’ve mentioned a few moments ago, a year and a half before his contract was even set to expire; he forced a renegotiation because he was the best worker in the business at the time.

Following this logic, Bischoff extended the accolade to Mercedes Mone, stating:

Mercedes, for sure, is without question the best worker in the business of women anyway. So yeah, it all depends on your perspective, doesn’t it?

Eric Bischoff recalled struggling to work with Vince Russo in WCW and that he felt like the company had put him in “wrestling prison” due to not being able to go and work for anyone outside of the company.
