Eric Bischoff Has Named His Favourite Ever Wrestling Storyline
WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff has praised The Bloodline storyline as perhaps the greatest narrative in professional wrestling history, surpassing all others in his view as a producer.
Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff was asked to name his favourite wrestling storyline. While he acknowledged the iconic Mega Powers saga featuring “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan as his personal favourite from a fan’s perspective, he said The Bloodline’s complexity and longevity place it above the rest from a business standpoint.
“I think the Mega Powers, Randy and Hulk. That’s, for me, it’s probably number one, just as a fan, because it was kind of before I got involved in the business,” Bischoff explained. “As a business person, as a producer, then clearly, the Bloodline story is probably the best story that’s been told, maybe ever in wrestling.”
The Mega Powers storyline captivated fans in the late 1980s. It began on 3 October 1987 during Saturday Night’s Main Event, when Hogan came to Savage’s aid. The duo’s alliance and eventual falling out, culminating in a WWF Championship clash at WrestleMania V, remain a classic chapter in wrestling history.
The Bloodline, however, has redefined long-term storytelling in WWE. What started as Roman Reigns’ dominant rule over The Usos, Sami Zayn, and Paul Heyman has transformed into a sprawling family saga filled with betrayals, realignments, and fresh blood. The current version of the faction is now led by Solo Sikoa and includes Tonga Loa, Tanga Loa, and Jacob Fatu.
What Did Eric Bischoff Say About Rumours That He Has Retired From Wrestling?
Eric Bischoff responded to reports that he has retired from wrestling by saying that the rumours are completely false and that while he doesn’t ever want to return to wrestling full-time, he is still open to part-time spots or one-off appearances.
