Eric Bischoff Confesses Real WWE Contract Status

Eric Bischoff WWE

Eric Bischoff has revealed the truth about his contract status with WWE after he made an appearance on NXT television.

Eric Bischoff recently appeared on NXT TV to mediate a face-to-face between Trick Williams and Ridge Holland ahead of their NXT Championship match at Deadline. That came on the same week that the WWE Hall of Famer also appeared on an MLW show as he spread his wings again in the wrestling business.

His NXT appearance coupled with his WWE Hall of Fame induction in 2021 and his almost never-ending criticism of AEW had led many to believe that Eric Bischoff was officially affiliated in some way with WWE but that doesn’t appear to be the case according to the man himself.

Eric Bischoff Not Under WWE Contract

Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff explained that he’s not under a WWE Legends deal while noting that NXT wasn’t the only WWE show he appeared on:

I did two WWE episodes. One on NXT and one for the WWE on the A&E Network. Then 48 hours later, I’m on an MLW show, who, by the way, was in a lawsuit with WWE… I don’t even have a legends agreement with WWE.

I don’t have a written agreement with anybody. I don’t even have a handshake deal with anybody. If TNA were to call me and say. ‘Hey, we’re doing something. We’d like you to show up.’ If it fit into my schedule and it sounded fun, I’ll do it.

Eric Bischoff has admitted his appeal to WWE audiences is in decline which bore out judging by the NXT ratings for his appearance on that show.
