El Grande Americano Ruins Rey Fenix’s WWE WrestleMania Debut
El Grande Americano and Rey Fenix both made their WrestleMania debuts in Las Vegas after Rey Mysterio missed out on a match.
Chad Gable has lost his ever-loving mind in WWE. Gable began hell bent on trying to be able to defeat luchadors to no success. So he went to Mexico, claimed the secrets of lucha libre, and returned as the mask-wearing El Grande Americano. Although Gable will not acknowledge that WWE’s newest star, who sounds like a Starbucks order, is in fact him. WWE has been blasted for the character who claims to be from the “Gulf of America.” A nod to President Donald Trump.
On the April 7 edition of Raw, El Grande Americano teamed with Brutus Creed & Julius Creed to defeat Dragon Lee, Joaquin Wilde & Cruz Del Toro. As the match headed towards its final stages, Americano was quietly handed a steel plate by Ivy Nile, who was at ringside. Americano put the weapon in his mask and headbutted Rey Mysterio, who was supporting his LWO teammates, and then did the same to Dragon Lee, before finishing the job with a flying headbutt.
Later in the show, Mysterio demanded a match with Americano, and General Manager Adam Pearce made the bout official. However, fate intervened.
On SmackDown in Las Vegas, Rey Mysterio was injured during a six-man tag team match as he teamed with Rey Fenix and Dragon Lee to face American Made again. As a result, Fenix was drafted in to make his WrestleMania debut much sooner than expected.
El Grande Americano Loads His Mask
At WrestleMania 41, El Grande Americano was played to the ring by a mariachi band but made the mistake of pushing AAA star Vikingo, who was watching at ringside, after WWE announced it had purchased the lucha libre organisation. Vikingo nailed him with a kick that sent him back in the ring to start the match.
El Grande Americano used the metal in the mask trick that served him well previously to nail Fenix, who came sailing out of the air to be hit with a loaded headbutt. Americano then went to the top rope to hit a flying headbutt and pick up the win.
This is the first time in his career that either El Grande Americano or Chad Gable have picked up a win at WrestleMania.
