Eddie Kingston Struggling With Stress Related Health Issues In AEW Absence
Eddie Kingston’s time away from AEW has been far from straightforward.
Former Ring of Honor World Champion and AEW star Eddie Kingston hasn’t wrestled since suffering a serious injury at NJPW Resurgence in May 2024.
In a wild clash with Gabe Kidd, Kingston suffered a broken leg, and torn ACL and meniscus. Due to the severity of his injuries, the star was forced to wait to undergo surgery on the ligament damage until his broken leg had begun to heal.
During an interview in February, Eddie Kingston revealed that he’d also been dealing with “stomach issues” while out of the ring.

A new update from Mike Johnson of PWInsider noted that Kingston is expected to be cleared to return in the summer. The report also included some quotes from the man himself who gave an insight into his recent stomach issues, revealing they were caused by stress.
“I just f–ked it up from stress and got meds for it. It is getting better and better everyday. You can quote me here: I was stressed out about dumb sh– I can’t control. So I f–ked up my stomach being a a–hole, but I’m trying to get better and I will get better.
As of late, I have been up and down and up and down. It was a normal day for me. I just don’t have certain things that I use to get my aggression out. This has been the longest I have ever been from my lady, pro wrestling. This is as honest as I can be Mike.”
In recent months Kingston has been pictured training with former AEW and WWE star Cezar Bononi as he attempts to get back to full fitness.
