Eddie Kingston Has A Positive Update On His Recovery
Eddie Kingston is chomping at the bit to get back in the ring.
Eddie Kingston hasn’t wrestled since losing his NJPW STRONG Openweight Title to Gabe Kidd at Resurgence in May.
During a brutal no-ropes Last Man Standing match, Kingston took a suplex from the ring apron through a table at ringside. However, as Kingston crashed through the table, his knee and lower leg cracked into the steel barrier.
In the days after the show it was revealed Eddie Kingston had broken his leg as well as tearing his ACL and meniscus. To make matters worse, the Mad King had to wait for his broken leg to begin healing before he could undergo surgery on his knee.
Eddie Kingston’s Recovery Is Underway
During an appearance on The DAVINci Report, Kingston gave an update on his progress and annoyance with insurance.
“Just healing up from a fracture of my tibia, strain on my meniscus, and I had to get my ACL replaced. A lot of fun.
“It’s been a process. It’s going good, until my insurance acts up, and that’s when I get annoyed. Insurance is a fraud, folks. Just throwing that out there.
“I’m starting to get itchy at home. I can walk now, a little bit. I can walk, I can lift weights. I can do squats a little bit, not too low. Now it’s at the point of, ‘Let’s hurry this up. Let’s get going.'”
The former ROH World Champion isn’t expected to return to the ring until May 2025.
