Eddie Kingston Gives Verdict On Evolution Of AEW
Eddie Kingston has given his thoughts on the rise of AEW.
On the July 22, 2020, edition of Dynamite, Eddie Kingston made his shock AEW debut. After confronting Cody Rhodes and throwing more than a few less-than-gentle verbal jabs his way, Kingston challenged the star for the TNT Championship that night.
Although he ultimately lost, Kingston became All Elite just over a week laterand his march to the top of the company began.
In more recent times, Kingston has overcome a broken leg and major knee injury to return to the ring, where he’s teaming with Hook.
During a new interview with Busted Open Radio, Kingston looked back at how AEW has changed since he walked through the curtain that night in Jacksonville.
“No, it’s changed. It’s definitely changed. The roster has changed, the office has changed, all that stuff. Has it changed for good or for bad? That’s not for me to say because I still get my check, so to me, it’s good still.”
Eddie Kingston Nearly Walked Away
In the weeks leading up to his return from injury, Eddie Kingston revealed that he came close to retirement on several occasions. In fact, it was only after some honest and open conversations with Ring of Honor legend Homicide that he decided to return to the ring.
Kingston added that when the time comes, he’s determined to end his career on his own terms.
