Eddie Kingston Working On “Business Stuff” Ahead Of AEW Return
In a new video, AEW star Eddie Kingston has given an update on his progress.
Eddie Kingston has been out of action since a broken leg, a torn ACL, and a torn meniscus in May 2024.
Kingston suffered the injuries after being suplexed from the ring apron through a table at ringside by Gabe Kidd as he lost the Strong Openweight Title. As Kingston landed, he crashed into the steel guard rail.
At the time, it was reported that Kingston would be out of action for around 12 months, but details on his comeback have remained hard to come by.
However, Eddie Kingston admitted he feared AEW had left him behind in a recent interview. The former ROH World Champion said he hadn’t watched much AEW while out of action, but he’d been so blown away by what he had seen, he’s worried he can’t compete at the same level.
“They’re Trying To Rush Me Back” – Eddie Kingston
In a new video on social media, he’s once again training with Cezar Bononi while giving an update on his progress. The star confirmed he’s been running and working out, but before he can wrestle, he has “business stuff” to deal with.
“I’m fine. They’re trying to rush me back in the ring, training. Which is fine. I’ve been running and stuff like that. It’s just the Business stuff that I need to get done before I even think about doing anything in the ring for the company. A lot of Business stuff.”
Meanwhile, Cezar Bononi has admitted that he’ll never wrestle on television again, after prioritizing his health above competing in regular matches. The former NXT star said that he plans to continue to wrestle on the independent scene so that his son can see him in action.
