Drew McIntyre Yet To Make Decision On WWE Future
Drew McIntyre hasn’t signed a new WWE contract.
With WrestleMania 40 just around the corner, Drew McIntyre is at the peak of his powers. Since giving his character a darker edge, the Scottish star has been widely praised for his performances, with many fans believing he’s never been better.
McIntyre is due to challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Title at the spectacular, while he’s also continued his feud with CM Punk. Despite this, his future remains unclear.
The former World Champion’s contractual status has been a topic of conversation for almost a year, but a resolution still hasn’t been reached. As such, McIntyre will become a free agent within weeks.
According to a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, McIntyre has told those close to him that he hasn’t signed a new contract. However, everyone is working under the assumption that a deal will be made.
The report adds that a focus on family will be a major part of McIntyre’s decision.
The news comes after Becky Lynch said her own future was “up for conversation.” It’s believed that Lynch’s existing WWE deal is up in June, although she has publicly expressed a desire to stay.
Drew McIntyre Felt Restricted Under Vince McMahon’s Leadership
During a recent interview, the Scottish Warrior discussed the changes made to his character, revealing it was something he was always prevented from doing previously.
Although not mentioned by name, Drew McIntyre hinted he was restricted by Vince McMahon with regard to character development. The star added that his current presentation is more of a “collaboration” with the creative team.
