Drew McIntyre Will Be “Back In A WWE Ring” Says SmackDown Star

Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre has not been seen on WWE television in several months as rumors persist that the star could be on his way out of the company at the end of his current deal.

PWInsider previously reported that there has been a push in WWE creative to ensure Drew McIntyre is back in storyline plans by Money In The Bank. That event this year takes place in London, England so the company is sure to want as many of its top European stars on hand for that show.

Meetings were said to have taken place in the last two weeks regarding pitches for McIntyre to make his return to WWE television where he has been absent since his Intercontinental Title match with Gunther and Sheamus at WrestleMania 39. McIntyre was however named in the WWE Draft and sent to Raw as a result.

Speaking to Cultaholic, Ridge Holland of The Brawling Brutes explained that he doesn’t know anything for sure but expects Drew McIntyre to be back in a WWE ring at some point in the future:

“He’s fine. Drew’s fine. He’s probably in the gym as we speak lifting two cows, the big human. He’s fine, Drew’s good. I don’t know for sure, I don’t know anything, I just know how to throw a headbutt. I think, whether it’s a month from now, two months from now, three months from now, you’ll see Drew McIntyre back in a WWE ring.”

There is no update on any movement regarding the Scottish star signing a new deal with the company with his current deal expected to expire by early 2024. The main focus of those discussions is the creative direction for the star and the belief is McIntyre wants a concrete direction in the company since he has proved himself as a major star and ambassador for the company.

Drew McIntyre has been announced for his first public appearance in his role as a WWE star since WrestleMania 39, however, which could indicate the company believes he will be staying put.
