Why Drew McIntyre Is Thankful Going Into WWE WarGames
Drew McIntyre has made some interesting remarks about the other men in the WarGames Match at Survivor Series.
The Men’s WarGames match takes place this Saturday, November 29th, from Petco Park in San Diego.
On the babyface team, WWE World Champion CM Punk is joined by Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, former WWE Champion Roman Reigns, and perhaps the greatest tag team ever, The Usos – Jimmy & Jey Uso.
Meanwhile, on the heel side, Paul Heyman is the manager of a team consisting of The Vision’s Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed & Logan Paul, along with former 10-time WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and the former 3-time WWE World Champion Drew McIntyre.
Both teams have potential problems brewing since Punk, Rhodes, and Reigns have admitted they don’t know who the team leader is. This past Monday on WWE Raw, Reigns told Cody and Punk to fix the problems on their team.
As for the heel side, Lesnar isn’t known for being a team guy, while McIntyre has issues with a lot of different people in WWE. The Vision may be united, but that’s another team that could have issues.
In the spirit of American Thanksgiving, Drew McIntyre posted a video on social media talking about his many issues with the guys in the WarGames match.
“I’m thankful that I get to acknowledge Roman Reigns with my boot in his face. Thankful I get to beat on those stupid twins that have been like hyenas in my life for the past few years, and thankful that Cody will have nowhere to run. No referees he can pressure to screw me out of the title.
No politics or machine that can protect him, that can suspend me, Aldis and Pearce. There’s nothing he can do, he’s literally in a Cage, I’m gonna beat him up, that’s gonna be fun.”
Drew McIntyre Hasn’t Forgotten About CM Punk
One of the most intense feuds in WWE this decade was the Drew McIntyre-CM Punk rivalry in 2024 that produced a legendary Hell in a Cell match, and many great moments. Drew certainly hasn’t forgotten about his old rival Punk.
“You know what the cherry is, the cherry on top? CM Punk. I get to take him to hell once again. It actually feels like Christmas over Thanksgiving.
“I know some of you are still asking why I’m on this team. You’re the only truthful one left in WWE, you’re the only good guy, when you actually pay attention to the product, left in WWE. So for the slowest members I’ll explain it simply; Logan and I are cool. I have no issues with the Bron Twins, that’s what we’re calling them now.
“Heyman, I sent him and Brock out of WWE at one point. Brock, I’d rather be on the same team with than against, and Heyman; he got me back in. He figured out the loophole, that’s what he does, and the thing about a dishonest man is you can always trust them to be dishonest, it’s the so called honest ones, the ones you fall for all their BS, you’ve got to watch out for.
“To be honest, I could have summed all of this up quite simply as I hate every single one of those guys, and I get them in a Cage. So yeah, thankful. Happy Turkey Day lads.”
