Drew McIntyre Continues To Tease Over New WWE Deal
Drew McIntyre likes to keep people guessing as rumours about his future in WWE continue to mount as WrestleMania approaches.
Drew McIntyre’s future has been the subject of an incredible level of speculation for almost a year. It’s previously been reported that the star and WWE were a long way apart on money, while it was suggested he could take a break from the ring.
As a result of time added on for injury, McIntyre’s contract runs out shortly after WrestleMania, but with his current storyline revolving around his chase for the World Heavyweight Championship and his hatred of CM Punk, there is a belief that Drew McIntyre will remain in WWE to continue his feud with Punk when he returns from injury. However, the man himself remains coy on the situation.
Drew McIntyre Has Years To Go – With Or Without WWE
Speaking on The Ringer’s Masked Men Show, Drew McIntyre admitted that he is going to be wrestling for years to come but does not commit to it being with WWE and even teases using his own name Drew Galloway again:
It’s very important to me, having a new contract. It’s been talked about for a very long time on the internet. I’m not the only one whose contract comes up every few years or whatever, but you wouldn’t think it reading the internet.
There is nothing I can say right now. I can say that I’m having fun. I can say that I intend to continue having fun and I’m in my prime. I’m younger than everyone thinks I am because I’ve been around for such a long time. I have years to go.
No matter what, you’ll still see Drew McIntyre wrestling. I can say ‘or Drew Galloway’ and that would get everyone’s attention.
Drew McIntyre will challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40. A title win in Philadelphia might all but clarify McIntyre’s longer-term future with WWE, a loss, however, will surely keep people guessing.
