Drew McIntyre Shares Reaction To Brock Lesnar’s WWE Return

Brock Lesnar

Drew McIntyre is giving little away on Brock Lesnar.

At SummerSlam, Brock Lesnar made one of the most unexpected comebacks in recent WWE history.

Lesnar has been largely out of the spotlight since being named in Janel Grant’s sex trafficking lawsuit filed against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis in early 2024.

The former World Champion, who last wrestled at SummerSlam 2023, had been due to compete at the 2024 Royal Rumble, but those plans were dropped as a result of the lawsuit. Subsequent reports suggested that WWE was steering clear of using Lesnar while the suit was ongoing, but that all went out of the window when he attacked John Cena.

During a new interview with The West Sport, Drew McIntyre was asked for his thoughts on his former rival’s surprise comeback.

“I just thought, ‘There’s Brock. There he is.’ I didn’t think anything crazy. I just saw him come out. I had finished my last appearance, I got in a plane. I believe I just arrived home in Nashville, where I saw it, and I went, ‘Oh, there he is.’ Brock is back. He’s the beast, he causes a lot of headlines, and most importantly, he’s also the guy I beat in the main event of WrestleMania for my first WWE Championship in five minutes.”

WWE Always Intended To Bring Back Brock Lesnar

Despite the incredible amount of controversy around the star, it’s been reported that WWE never planned to cut ties with Brock Lesnar. In fact, he was never suspended at any point during his absence and remained on full pay. This meant that he continued to be one of the highest-paid stars in the company despite not wrestling or making appearances.

According to the report, Lesnar’s comeback was only a matter of time, with the company happy to wait until he was cleared by its legal department.
