Drew McIntyre Named Best Talker In WWE

Drew McIntyre WWE Raw

A veteran WWE talent believes that Drew McIntyre should be praised for being one of the best talkers in the company.

The rivalry between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk could be the most anticipated of WWE Bad Blood on October 5th. That’s because it is going to be a Hell in a Cell match that will try to settle the issues between the two former WWE Champions.

McIntyre and Punk going inside Hell in a Cell will be their third PLE match after Drew won at SummerSlam and Punk won the rematch in a Strap Match at Bash In Berlin.

What’s been incredible about the feud is that Punk was out of action for six months due to a torn triceps, yet the two men were able to carry on the rivalry due to their promos and non-wrestling segments that did involve some physical attacks. McIntyre in particular mocked Punk endlessly for months while talking about Punk making his life hell earlier in McIntyre’s career.

Wade Barret is a WWE Monday Night Raw announcer on the Raw brand with McIntyre. It’s well known that they are close friends for over two decades.

While speaking to AceOdds, Barrett said that McIntyre might just be the best talker in WWE right now.

“I think Drew has been fantastic. I think he’s one of those guys who can do it all. He can be the big hero as we saw in Glasgow and the whole city or whole country is going nuts for him. He can be the most vile human being imaginable, which is what we saw a few days later in Chicago at CM Punk’s home. And he really is fantastic in the ring.”

“He looks great. He’s a complete pro when it comes to representing WWE in the media and then on the mic, I think in the last 12 months, Drew has hit a whole new level on the mic where he’s potentially the number one guy in the entire industry when it comes to talking.”

Drew McIntyre Has Improved A Lot As A Speaker

Since Drew McIntyre is Scottish, his heavy accent may have sounded strange to the mostly North American WWE audience. Barrett credits McIntyre for working hard to improve his promos.

“I would say historically that was Drew’s biggest weak point, especially when we first moved over to the US. He wasn’t confident on the mic. He had a lot of difficulties with his accent. People couldn’t understand him. I was having to translate for Drew when we’d be going into restaurants and things like that but his growth in all areas has been massive.”

“And I think he’s the perfect guy to have become the first-ever British WWE World Champion. I think they knocked it out of the park with that guy and he’s going to keep on getting better and delivering over the next few years.”
