Drew McIntyre Teases What He Might Do With CM Punk’s Bracelet
The personal rivalry between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk has seen a cheap bracelet become the focal point between the two former WWE Champions.
For the past several months, Drew McIntyre and CM Punk have done a lot to eachother physically while also saying some nasty things.
Part of the reason why the rivalry has become so heated is that after McIntyre beat up Punk on one occasion, he stole Punk’s bracelet from him. While it’s a cheap bracelet that could be worth 50 cents or maybe $1, it has the names of Punk’s wife April, and his beloved dog Larry on it.
When Drew McIntyre beat CM Punk at WWE SummerSlam with Seth “Freakin” Rollins as the special guest referee, the bracelet played a key part in the match because at one point, Punk took possession of it from Drew, but then Rollins put it on his wrist to keep it safe. That ended up infuriating Punk, who attacked Rollins and it led to McIntyre getting the win while also taking the bracelet back.
While some fans may question why there’s so much attention on a cheap bracelet, it’s an example of why the story means so much in WWE when Punk values it so much while McIntyre enjoys taunting Punk with it.
Drew McIntyre has a role in the film “The Killer’s Game,” which is scheduled to be released in the United States on September 13. The movie stars WWE legend Batista, who recommended McIntyre for the role. While promoting the movie, McIntyre spoke to ComicBook about taking possession of CM Punk’s bracelet.
“It comes with me everywhere. What am I gonna do with it? I don’t know, I toy with the idea of breaking it but that’s too easy. It causes him just so much emotional hurt and stress It’s hilarious. Over something that’s, you know, just a piece of trash to me.”
“Once I take him out of wrestling and I get surgery for my arm for all the high fives I’m given for taking Punk out of wrestling, I’ll probably frame it and put it in a nice little glass frame.”
Where Might Drew McIntyre Place CM Punk’s Bracelet?
As he continued, McIntyre remarked (perhaps jokingly) that taking Punk’s bracelet could represent his greatest achievement as he attempts to take Punk out of wrestling. McIntyre also referenced his movie role by taking a shot at Punk’s movie “career” which hasn’t seen Punk star in a big movie like McIntyre.
“Put it above my mantle and look at my greatest achievement. Not wrestling the main event at WrestleMania, multiple world titles; holding the place together when the world shut down during the pandemic. Now taking CM Punk out of wrestling? My number one achievement. I also was in a real movie which he’s never done. Straight to DVD, Punk.”
The next match in the McIntyre-Punk saga is a Strap Match taking place this Saturday, August 31st at WWE Bash In Berlin as McIntyre tries to go 2-0 against Punk while Punk wants to even things up against his Scottish rival.
