Drew McIntyre’s Message Ahead Of Major WWE SmackDown Match
Drew McIntyre had some interesting remarks ahead of his big WWE SmackDown match.
The rivalry between Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu began in a simple way on the September 26th episode of WWE SmackDown.
While McIntyre was in the ring complaining about his Wrestlepalooza loss to Cody Rhodes, Fatu told Drew to stop whining, and they got into a physical altercation that saw Fatu standing tall.
When WWE SmackDown went to Perth, Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu got in two backstage fights, which led to WWE Officials breaking them up. The chaos also led to SmackDown GM Nick Aldis booking them in a match for the October 17th SmackDown in San Jose.
Whether the McIntyre-Fatu match actually happens is another story, as Fatu is reportedly dealing with an injury that could lead to a lengthy layoff, potentially keeping him out of action until 2026. However, the specifics of the injury are not yet known.
As of this writing, about five hours before SmackDown takes place in San Jose, WWE is still advertising the McIntyre-Fatu match on SmackDown.
In a video message on X/Twitter, Drew McIntyre talked about facing Jacob Fatu on SmackDown.
“I’m back in my home away from home recently. I’m here more than my actual home – the airport. Looking through my head right now, but I guess it’s always the same result — no matter what happens to me, I don’t give up. Call it stubbornness, call it determination, I don’t care.
The one thing you will call me is justified. The latest brick wall put in front of me is Jacob Fatu, one of the baddest guys on the roster. This match is going to happen tomorrow and I have to win. It didn’t have to happen, though.
Jacob, you stepped up in my business a few weeks ago when I had nothing to do with you and then you dropped me with one damn calf. If that wasn’t bad enough, the following week, you ran your mouth. You’re no different than everyone else in a lot of ways. I mean, you’re a hypocrite. He literally said, ‘Drew, you run your mouth too much’ while running your mouth.
Drew McIntyre Hates Jacob Fatu’s Family
While the rivalry between Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu is a new one, Drew has a long history with Fatu’s family members, like his cousins Roman Reigns, The Usos, Solo Sikoa, and others. That led to Drew stating that he doesn’t like Fatu’s family.
I’ll give you your due, I see a lot of me in you. I mean, I flew all the way across the world to drop you because you pumped me out. I guarantee that if it was the other way around, you’d do exactly the same.
I hate, hate your family and I’ve been in the ring with all of them. If you’re as bad as you say you are, you’re better than every one of them. At least that’s what I think you’re saying, you talk in mostly soundbites and catchphrases that I can barely follow.
This match, it’s a guaranteed war. This is a match nobody should miss. It’s a match that I have to win. Tomorrow, Drew McIntyre derails the Jacob Fatu hype train by any means necessary.”
In addition to the McIntyre-Fatu match, WWE is also advertising this for SmackDown in San Jose.
