Drew McIntyre Delivers A Special Gift To Michael Cole
Drew McIntyre had a special gift for announcer Michael Cole ahead of Elimination Chamber.
‘The Scottish Warrior’ has endured a difficult start to 2025, having been dumped out of the Royal Rumble by rival Damian Priest as well as suffering televised losses to Jey Uso, Seth Rollins and Jimmy Uso.
McIntyre is also battling through injury issues currently, recently revealing that he spent 45 minutes having his knee drained before falling to defeat at the hands of the eldest Uso twin, Jimmy, on the 21st February edition of SmackDown.
Despite these recent setbacks, McIntyre was fired up ahead of his participation in the Elimination Chamber on 1st March. The Ayr, Scotland native had previously promised to crush fellow competitor John Cena during the vicious match but chose not to answer questions from veteran announcer Michael Cole during the Elimination Chamber Kick-Off.
McIntyre instead chose to use his interview time to deliver lip balm to Cole, who he accused of being too enthusiastic about the appearances of the 16-time World Champion:
“I know tomorrow, you’re gonna be on commentary. You’re gonna bury me. You’re gonna call me delusional, you’re gonna miss out key parts of the story to make me sound wrong when all I tell is the truth.
Then your boy’s gonna come out there. You’re gonna get so excited. You’ll probably get on the table. Actually, you’ll be on the table on the table because they can’t shoot you below the table because you’ll get so excited out there.
So if you’re gonna go that crazy for Cena, I got this lip balm for you. I’ll put it in your pocket right here. So if you’re gonna kiss his arse, at least use that first.”
Drew McIntyre Addresses Injury Concerns
Drew McIntyre has addressed his recent injury issues, insisting that he will not use them as an excuse as he continues to battle through the pain barrier.
Speaking on a media call ahead of Elimination Chamber, the 39 year-old dismissed the idea that he could miss the much anticipated Premium Live Event:
“If I have to tape myself together to get in the ring with the likes of Punk, Seth, and John Cena, people I really want to be in there with. Show the world that Drew McIntyre belongs on top.
You don’t have to hand me a thing, I’ll keep taking and taking and taking and showing why I belong on top. That’s a match I’m not going to miss, if I have to hold myself together with duct tape.”
