Drew McIntyre Drops 4-Word Message Following WWE Return, Confirms New Nickname
Drew McIntyre has returned to WWE on the latest episode of SmackDown.
The superstar was last seen on Saturday Night’s Main Event in May, where he lost a Street Fight match against Damian Priest.
Upon returning, he has already secured his next match.
Drew McIntyre has a new nickname
McIntyre interrupted Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton while the two reminisced about their match at Night of Champions.
The Scottish Sociopath tried to get The Viper and The American Nightmare to turn on each other, but was unsuccessful. Ultimately, it ended with Randy Orton hitting Drew McIntyre with an RKO.
McIntyre demanded that Nick Aldis give him a match against The Apex Predator, and the General Manager agreed.
Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton is booked for Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12th, 2025.
The returning superstar took to social media to claim that ‘The Alpha is back’, suggestively giving himself a new nickname.

Whether the match will lead to something more or it will be a one-off bout at Saturday Night’s Main Event is yet to be known. However, if it continues, it’ll possibly be due to WWE kicking off the storyline between Cody Rhodes and John Cena for SummerSlam, leading to halting any possible creative direction between Rhodes and Orton.
