Drew McIntyre Confirmed For WWE SmackDown

Drew McIntyre is returning to action.

After being eliminated from the Royal Rumble, Drew McIntyre let everyone know backstage that he wasn’t happy with how the situation played out.

According to multiple reports, McIntyre was upset at someone in the match “having to get their moves in,” and the person in question was believed to be LA Knight. McIntyre was eventually eliminated by Damian Priest, with the interaction used to set up a new storyline.

McIntyre then missed Raw, and his status for SmackDown had been up in the air, but it seems things have been ironed out.

WWE Plans For Drew McIntyre Become Clear

According to a new report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, multiple WWE sources believe McIntyre will be at the show. Furthermore, one source expects his switch to SmackDown to be made official very soon, potentially at the same taping.

Despite the issues at the Rumble, McIntyre and the company have been in regular contact since.

This tallies with an earlier report that said Drew McIntyre was moving to SmackDown to start his rivalry with Damian Priest. Interestingly, that same report noted that the Scottish star will then move into a storyline with Cody Rhodes which had originally been planned in 2023.

In an update from Wrestle Votes, it was claimed the main event on SmackDown on February 7 will be Drew McIntyre vs. LA Knight vs. Jimmy Uso.
