Drew McIntyre Blasts “Stupid” WWE Gimmick

Drew McIntyre can’t stand a popular WWE gimmick.

Since returning to WWE in 2017, Drew McIntyre has captured World Championship gold on three occasions. The Scottish star first climbed to the top of the mountain at WrestleMania 36, before being pinned by Randy Orton inside Hell in a Cell. However, he quickly won the title back, before enjoying another 97-day reign.

However, that run came to a shuddering halt at the hands of The Miz who cashed in his Money In The Bank contract. It would then be more than three years until Drew McIntyre was World Champion again, eventually pinning Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40. But his happiness was short-lived, as he was defeated by Damian Priest via a spat with CM Punk just minutes later, with Priest cashing in his Money In The Bank contract.

This means that, unsurprisingly, McIntyre doesn’t have a lot of love for the Money In The Bank briefcase. Speaking in a new interview with the Indian Express, McIntyre described it as “stupid.”

“I can’t stand the Money in the Bank briefcase. I understand the point is to cash it in and win the title, but the reason I’ve lost my last two world titles is because of that stupid briefcase,”

Drew McIntyre Vs. Damian Priest Gets Vital Stipulation

At Clash at the Castle, McIntyre will get his chance at revenge when he challenges Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship. As the tension between the pair continues to rise, it’s been announced Judgment Day will be banned from ringside for the match in Glasgow, Scotland.

McIntyre got the stipulation added to the bout with a win over Finn Balor on Raw.
