Drew McIntyre Attacks Cody Rhodes Before Wrestlepalooza, Makes Statement on WWE SmackDown

Brock Lesnar opened tonight’s show with an attack on Corey Graves, and Drew McIntyre closed the show with an assault on Cody Rhodes.

The final segment of tonight’s WWE Friday Night SmackDown featured a contract signing between Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes for their match at Wrestlepalooza tomorrow. Nick Aldis was present in the ring, too, as he welcomed both contenders to the ring.

Cody Rhodes Insults Drew McIntyre, but Gets Attacked by the Scottish Warrior

For the past few weeks, McIntyre had been taking cheap shots at Rhodes, calling him a coward and whatnot. Tonight, The American Nightmare hit back with a scathing response, calling The Scottish Warrior a “Keyboard Warrior.”

Insulting words were exchanged, shots were taken, and then suddenly McIntyre snapped and headbutted Rhodes and overturned the table between them. The fans then saw Rhodes retaliate, and the two brawled at ringside, but McIntyre got the last laugh by landing a boot stomp on Rhodes’ face before being separated by officials, and the show went off air.
