Don Callis Never Planned For Massive AEW Family

Don Callis AEW

The Don Callis Family has grown to gargantuan levels in AEW, but it seems that was never the original plan.

Andrade El Idolo made his shock return to AEW just weeks after WWE fired him amid apparent wellness policy violations. Andrade attacked Kenny Omega on his comeback and immediately aligned with The Don Callis Family.

Later in the night, El Clon made his debut in the company as well, and also inexplicably joined Don Callis’ group with the full might of it appearing on stage to join their new arrival.

AEW Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada, TNT Champion Kyle Fletcher, Konosuke Takeshita, Lance Archer, Josh Alexander, Rocky Romero, Hechicero, Andrade El Idolo, El Clon, Wardlow, Trent Beretta, Mark Davis, and Brian Cage are all members of the group, although a few of them are missing in action for various reasons.

Don Callis Family Has Become Comical

Speaking on the All F’N Wrestling Show, Brian Cage explained why the group’s exponential growth is funny, as Don Callis never wanted to have such a big group to begin with:

It’s funny, too, because I don’t think Don wanted that many people to begin with. Then I thought he kind of thought it was funny, and he was almost doing it, like, comically against it, making a joke about starting to add people, and then now it’s over the fact that everyone’s just joining the Don Callis family. Yeah, it’s quite comical.
