Dominik Mysterio’s WWE Future Predicted After Title Loss
Mixing his personal and professional life proved costly for Dominik Mysterio on WWE RAW.
The Intercontinental Champion was unhappy about being confronted by his father, Rey Mysterio, who returned last week after recovering from an injury he had suffered in April.
During the opening segment of the latest taping of the red brand, where John Cena was speaking to his hometown crowd of Boston, Massachusetts, Mysterio made his presence felt, being disrespectful and cocky as ever.
This led to Triple H finalizing an impromptu match between Mysterio and the 17-time world champion, with the IC title on the line.
While the match was exciting, it was Cena who came out on top to become the Intercontinental Champion for the first time. His victory also made him a Grand Slam Champion.
Retired WWE star Big E discussed the match-up on WWE RAW Recap, while also praising Dominik.
I know that it’s a losing effort, but I do love this for Dom. We have what, four more weeks of John Cena’s career, and Dominik Mysterio is not in a squash match with John Cena, he’s going toe to toe with John Cena, he’s getting mic time with John Cena.
I understand that he lost the title to Cena, but I think this was a big moment for Dom. ‘Passing of the torch moment’ might not be the right way to put it, but I think it is a big co-sign that yeah, Dom is a guy who we’re going to invest in for a long time. [H/T: WrestlingNews.co]
Finn Balor Reacts After Dominik Mysterio’s Title Loss
Dominik Mysterio’s Judgment Day stablemate, Finn Balor, took to X to express his thoughts about the Intercontinental Championship match.
For the last several months, both Mysterio and Balor have been at loggerheads for various reasons. Mysterio was also seen as the reason behind RAW General Manager Adam Pearce setting a match that cost Balor and JD McDonagh their tag team titles.
Without naming any names, the former WWE Champion posted the below tweet:
