Dominik Mysterio’s Backstage Reaction To Heartbreaking Split With WWE Partner
Dominik Mysterio was not a happy man on Saturday.
In a much-hyped tag team match, he teamed up with El Grande Americano at AAA Guerra de Titanes to take on his father, Rey Mysterio, and Rey Fenix.
A few weeks ago, the original team they were supposed to face featured Penta, who had reunited with his brother Fenix.
However, during a match against Solo Sikoa on the November 24 episode of WWE RAW, Penta suffered an injury and was unable to recover in time for the event in Mexico, resulting in the Hall of Famer being named as his replacement.
Before the match, Penta assured that he would back up the babyfaces, and boy, did he deliver!
In the closing minutes of the bout, El Grande Americano introduced an object, probably a metal plate, that he often inserts into his mask before heatbutting his opponent.
This time around, though, Penta showed up and grabbed hold of the metal, which he put in his own mask and headbutted Dominik Mysterio.
Rey Mysterio then hit a 619 on his son before ending the match with a splash.
Dominik Mysterio Upset With El Grande Americano After Loss
Dominik Mysterio reportedly suffered an injury to his arm during the match and could barely use it to good effect.
After the bout, El Grande Americano checked up on his partner, but was instead shoved in frustration. Dominik grabbed his Intercontinental Championship and AAA Mega Championship before heading backstage.
Inside the ring, the babyfaces watched the incident unfold. As Americano collected himself, the trio walked up to him.
As both parties stared at each other, Rey Mysterio offered his hand, which Americano shook as a sign of respect.
AAA Lucha Libre Worldwide’s X account shared a video, showing Dominik backstage watching Americano shaking hands with his father.
The 28-year-old simply shook his head before walking away.
