Dominik Mysterio Puts WWE Title On The Line At Backlash

Dominik Mysterio is finding out what being a champion in WWE is all about as he’ll put his gold on the line at Backlash.

At WrestleMania, The Judgment Day looked like it had fallen apart completely as Dominik Mysterio pinned Finn Balor to win the Intercontinental Championship that was held by Bron Breakker going into the event.

The following night on Raw, Mysterio survived his first title defence against Penta thanks to interference from the returning JD McDonagh. McDonagh seemed fully aligned with Mysterio, distancing himself from Finn Balor, who seems unsure of Mysterio’s new success.

Dominik Mysterio Faces Penta Again

On the May 5 edition of Raw, Penta defeated JD McDonagh in a singles match, which then set up a rematch against Dominik Mysterio at Backlash for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

AJ Styles entered The Judgment Day’s clubhouse on the show to send a warning that whoever won at Backlash, he’d be coming after the title and beating Mysterio up regardless.
