Dominik Mysterio is living the dream.

Although he’d made several on-screen appearances when he was a child, Dominik Mysterio didn’t start training to be a wrestler until 2018. Initially under the guidance of his legendary father and Jay Lethal, Mysterio learned the family trade before having his first match at SummerSlam 2020.

A history tag team championship reign with Rey followed, before he joined Judgment Day, causing his career to explode.

Since then, Mysterio has become a two-time NXT North American Champion and is the current Intercontinental Champion.

Dominik Mysterio’s Wife Pushed Him To Follow Father’s Advice

During an appearance on What’s Your Story? with Stephanie McMahon, Mysterio looked back at his life and career to date, and his impressive rise through the WWE ranks. Throughout the conversation, Mysterio repeatedly emphasised the importance of his wife Marie to his journey.

The pair met when they were 14, and got engaged in 2023 before marrying in March 2024.

When McMahon asked whether Marie had always been supportive of his WWE career and desire to be a wrestler, Mysterio spoke glowingly about his wife.

“This whole time. So, I’ve been fortunate enough to travel and train in different places. I lived in Calgary, trained with Lance Storm, moved to Tampa, trained with Jay Lethal, and then back home.

This was all long periods of time, even when I signed with the company, too, I was in Orlando for about a year, a year and a half, almost. And she was super supportive the whole time.

A lot of the time, I didn’t want to go, I was like ‘I can do that here. I can train here, and I’ll find something here.’ But she was like ‘no, it’s not the same. If your dad thinks that’s the way to go, that’s what you’ve gotta do. You’ve got to listen.’

She was supportive the whole time.”

During an earlier interview in October 2024, Dominik Mysterio said his wife is “surprisingly cool,” with his on-screen fraternising with the likes of Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley. The Intercontinental Champion added that as long as he tells Marie what’s going to happen, she “never gives me a hard time.”
